This perennial palm, originating from the Canary islands, has dark green foliage and, despite its bushy growth, can reach up to 20 metres in height. It is believed that this tree can live to be over a thousand years old with the oldest living exemple currently to be found at Icod de los Vinos in the north-east of Tenerife.

To sow in open field from March to May.
